O&O RegEditor

Windows' standard registry editor may be useful for editing a few values on rare occasions, but not for working with the registry on a daily basis. For this particular job, O&O RegEditor is a much better solution. The application makes it easier to access the system's registry and it allows you to work in a comfortable manner. The best part is that it can be launched on any computer, directly from a removable drive, which makes it an ideal tool for administrators.

O&O RegEditor is distributed as a freeware application, for all popular Windows versions. It doesn't need to be installed, so you can just download and run its executable right away. However, it is recommended to place the executable in its own folder, because the application will create additional files when you run it.

In terms of appearance, O&O RegEditor is similar to the classic RegEdit utility. The main difference is that O&O RegEditor's user interface displays a toolbar, which makes it much easier to navigate through registry keys, to create new values, cut, copy or move existing ones, delete them and so on. Also, when you access a key, its path will be displayed on the same toolbar, where you can select previously accessed keys.

Besides saving registry items in the Favorites menu, like in the classic editor, O&O RegEditor allows you to export and print your favorites. What's more, the application provides with quick links to frequently needed keys, in the same Favorites menu. Creating new items or editing existing ones can be done on the same window, beneath the values list, where you can also find options for selecting different editing modes.
